April 18th, 2010 - With Victorian England as the backdrop, Henkel delivers another power-packed tale of good versus evil. This time Jason Dark and his sidekick, Siu Lu, take on the demons in a battle between Heaven and Hell. The developing relationship between the two main characters adds depth to a heavily plot-driven story. Like the previous volumes in the series, Heavens on Fire is a fast ride. Henkel’s prose is descriptive yet succinct. No wasted words here. It’s a style that I think would lend itself particularly well to radio or podcasting. Though it helps to have read the previous volumes, each works well as a standalone. Heavens on Fire is no exception.
